Which museum is worth a trip in SF? Legion of honor or De Young? - sf museums

Never be in a museum, with the exception of the Academy of Sciences. Have you visited one of the two? What makes exploring fun?

Thank you for your advice.

Both are very good indeed.
Legion of Honor has more classical art and artifacts. Youth art is more modern and current than the Andy Warhol exhibition at the moment. The youth was also an observation tower, the glass on all four sides with the best views are.
When was the last time he visited the Academy of Sciences? Recently (renovated one years) and the Planetarium and the forest is impressive. In addition, you can never tired of it!
I would say that the visit of his young ... offer a little more, and if you later want to do something, you can visit the Academy of science or art exhibitions, which are usually in the afternoon. or you can rent in the winter walk through the flowers, or paddle boats on Lake storeroom.
Be sure to visit in the morning ... arrive in the afternoon and could not even be able to enter
Remember - you can bring your lunch or buy it before hand. Food in both places is very expensive and not worth the price.

The Legion has more "classics". Laboratory before Renaissance Europe, and others. But it has a variety of works of the Renaissance. The best place to start.
Young has a wider range of things. I think in a few words, anyway.
You can not go wrong anywhere do.
